Send your presentation as an e-mail attachment
You can send your presentation to others as an e-mail
attachment. When you send a presentation as an
e-mail attachment, your e-mail client opens with a
new message with your presentation attached that is
ready to address and then send.
By sending presentations as e-mail attachments,
you can save time. Instead of finding a network
location that all recipients have access to and then
sending an e-mail message requesting updates to
the presentation, you can instead just send the
presentation via e-mail. When you send a presentation
as an attachment, you can look up recipients in your
e-mail address book.
It also saves time to use PowerPoint’s Send E-mail
command because it creates the e-mail message and
attaches the presentation to it automatically. Without
this command, you would have to open Microsoft
Outlook, start a new e-mail message, run the insert
attachment command, and then find the presentation
that you want to send. These steps are taken care of
when you use PowerPoint’s Send E-mail command.
1 Click the Office button.
2 Click Send.
3 Click E-mail.
Microsoft Outlook opens with a
new mail message created and
the presentation attached.
4 Click To.
The Select Names:
Contacts dialog box
appears.
5 Click the name of the
person to whom you
want to send the
presentation.
Note: If you want to
person, Ctrl-click to select
more than one name.
6 Click To.
7 Click OK.
8 Type your message in the body of the
e-mail.
9 Click Send.
The message is sent with the presentation
attached.
Caution!
You should use caution when you use e-mail to send
large presentations. Some recipients may use e-mail
providers that limit the size of attachments.
Additionally, users with low bandwidth connections
may not want to wait for large presentations to
download when they check for e-mail.
Did You Know?
You can type the complete e-mail addresses of the
people to whom you want to send the e-mail
message instead of looking them up in your address
book. In Step 4 above, type the e-mail addresses,
separated by semicolons, on the To line. You can
then omit Steps 5 to 7 above. If those users are in
your address book, their display names will appear.
