Add an excel spreadsheet to calculate data

Add an excel spreadsheet to calculate data

You can save time by inserting Excel spreadsheet
tools directly into a slide. You can take advantage of
the calculation, formatting, conditional formatting,
and analysis capabilities in Excel while you continue
to do your work in PowerPoint.

If your slides routinely include information that
requires calculations, you may be accustomed to
using a calculator and then typing the results into a
PowerPoint table. Instead, you can insert Excel
spreadsheet capabilities directly into the slide so that
the calculations take place where the data resides.

For example, in a marketing plan presentation for a
new product, you can include a break-even analysis
based on the list price of the product and its expected
costs. If the price or cost structure changes, you can
edit the spreadsheet in the slide and the break-even
analysis automatically adjusts for you.

When you are not editing the spreadsheet, it appears
as a table on the slide, and the window returns to the
standard PowerPoint Ribbon. When you double-click
the spreadsheet object to edit it, the Ribbon and
other interface options change to their Excel versions.

Try This!

After your data is entered into the
spreadsheet object, you can apply a
theme to give it a professional look.
Double-click the spreadsheet object to
display the Excel Ribbon, click Page
Layout, click Themes, and then click
the theme you want to use.

More Options!

Spreadsheet data looks best when the
spreadsheet object is no larger than
the data it contains. To resize the
spreadsheet object, double-click it to
display small black squares on the
corners and sides of the object. Click
and drag any square until the edge is
against the existing data. You may
need to repeat this for each side you
want to resize.
